This forum is for both professionals, volunteers, and service users to share learning, information, tips or experiences relating supporting individuals to recovery from problems with drugs or alcohol. For example:
- Sharing training slides or videos
- Sharing emerging research
- Sharing new ideas and getting feedback from a local community, or service users (e.g. proposals for community events, proposals for new activities)
In the future, we also hope to make this a space for:
- Service users to anonymously share their own experiences. As well as being cathartic this is also intended to help others who may be experiencing similar issues. Service users are often encouraged to do this in organisation newsletters or at peer group meetings etc., but rarely get a chance to do this anonymously. This would hopefully encourage a larger number of people to share their experiences.
- Service users to easily connect with others in the community, explore events or recovery related opportunities.
This "in the future" section may take some time to develop to ensure GDPR compliance and make sure any risks to service users on the forum are considered and managed.
